Hey Gary

RE; Hey Gary As I said Gary, normal moderation duties instead of a total wipe would let you keep valid content. Or even placing the "Felix the Cat" account into moderation/banned status. Doing this (total wipe) is the sign of someone that is incompetent and that gets to easily frustrated. Is that why you have an issue keeping a job? You get easily frustrated and then go into a rage fest?

Hey Gary

Not really interested in selling it.. but leaning more towards finding someone to "donate" it to that may be in a position that they can't afford a paid script but would like one. I sometimes get an "urge" to do stuff like that.

Hey Gary

Back to kindergarten for you to learn how to read a calendar Pretty sure 01/2018 hasn't reached here yet.... and it's was updating just fine up to the point that I took it offline. Oh, and lookie what my little account shows on their site So, you were pontificating on something that you have no knowledge of (once more) as we can see. And no Gary, you would not be the deserving person that would get it.

Hey Gary

And if they expire they have to be renewed before they can be transferred so you are back to a full year of validity. But as I said, even if there was 24 months on them (which you can do) I'd still not be selling them.

Hey Gary

And sorry Gary, already got picks (thumb and finger) inbound. A couple of NP2 National fingerpicks and 4 National thumb picks as well as some fingerpicks specific to clawhammer playing and then found some really nice Old 97's that are made by a lady that's been around the banjo scene for a while.

Hey Gary

Pretty sure I already commented that I didn't plan on getting rid of any of the licenses, with possibly the exception of the WBB one and I'll most likely give that one away to a deserving person. And not to mention, I have 2 XF licenses, both have the RM associated with them and one also has the gallery - so £20 wouldn't touch either one.

Hey Gary

Gary, you make absolutely no sense. You stated that you wipe(d) the board because of what was said, yet you state that you won't moderate others on what they say. Explain to me what the difference is between moderating/deleting/etc 1 post (or 2-3) and deleting ALL posts (which you do when you wipe the site) - other than the actual number itself between 1-3 and all. Oh, and than the fact it's quicker to moderate a few posts than having to restore from a backup. And I really don't care if you moderate the posts or not. It's hilarious reading the stuff that goes on between the two sites - with your normal sock puppet accounts that you try to carry as real users. Also, curios if you've given any thought to what your new domain will be in May 2018 since you change domains to get the cheap hosting instead of paying $29 more a year to maintain your current domain. Heck, that works out to around $3.24 a month. Most people waste more than that each month on bags of chips (think you Brits call them crisps), etc.

Hey Gary

Can't speak towards that aspect, but I'd personally never allow (and didn't) guest posting. If it's important enough then register an account. Shill account users are pretty much cowards anyway no matter where they post. That's the issue now, to many people want to remain hidden and talk their shit, which I basically consider a coward. Some of us will talk our shit to your face using our real name. To top it off Gary, all you have to do is look at the domain name here and the topic areas and realize what it's for.... either that or it's for the discussion of bashing big rocks into little rocks. It doesn't purport to be a "legitimate" discussion site like your think yours is. Part of the deal here is you have to be able to give as good as get. You have a big problem with not being able to handle the heat and try to dish it out and then it just makes you look sillier. Nothing that gets said here is life changing, earth shattering or end of the world. It's basically a zone for bashing away at stuff and laughing it off. You can't do the latter and make weak attempts at the former.

Hey Gary

My last "official" lessons, other than my recent guitar ones, was back when I was in Jr. High back in the mid 1970's. I still know the basics of reading sheet music, but I'm having to relearn a lot of it. The music theory is a PITA to learn but is really a core requirement for what I want to learn to do. I can't sing worth a crap, but have been able to teach myself how to play a keyboard in the past from just listening to the song. Took a while and many reps of it and that's why I really am relearning theory and sheet music reading. I learned long ago that there are very few things that a moderately intelligent person cannot learn if the desire is there. It may take them a bit longer than others, but if one is willing to work at it, one can usually succeed.

Hey Gary

Odds are I'm going to hold off on the mandolin for a bit. Already got two instruments to learn to play - well, 3 if you count my lame attempts with the harmonica. Oh, guess we could count my FIL's cornet also since I got it cleaned up and all the valves working well. Forgot how much of a PITA that a trumpet/cornet were to play. Loose lips result in blattttss... tight lips result in a squeaky fart sound. I CAN still play the calvary charge on it and some of taps.

Hey Gary

Dang, it's official. I need my banjo fingerpicks. Done ripped the corner off a nail practicing clawhammer technique before my fingerpicks came in.

Hey Gary

And what exactly does that change from the segment you quoted? Moderation duties can consist of also moderating YOUR posts after the fact (albeit, that should be done prior to the posting). That's why allowing guest posting is rather stupid, especially when you know folks are going to troll your site. The problem is you've wiped your site so many times historically that nobody really wants to join because the content will disappear because you are to lazy to perform moderation duties and find it easier to hide your historical hysterical actions behind wiping the board. That's one of the reasons of all the screen shots and you are well aware of it. You can wipe as often as you want, but the screenshots will reveal the truth.

Hey Gary

Gary, you do realize that instead of wiping the entire board, you as an admin have the ability to control individual threads and their integrated posts - correct? You don't have to do an entire wipe when you can easily do what most refer to as normal moderation duties.

Hey Gary

Sorry Gary, the only one that has a head that tends to explode is you. It gets fired up to maximum rage and loses all control.
15. 13511

Hey Gary

Gary, you can't fight your basic nature.
16. 13511

Hey Gary

That's what I'm leaning towards.. but it would be for me. If i got a keyboard setup I'd give it to my son first to see if he'd like to learn and then if not take it on. I've been eyeballing the Kentucky KM line of mandolins as an entry level one.
17. 13511

Hey Gary

Another burning question for you Gary. Mandolin or keyboard?
18. 13511

Hey Gary

We shall see Gary. I give you a week at the most before the next rage wipe fest occurs. Manipulation of you is extremely easy. That's because only in YOUR mind did that occur. Gary, we all realize that you can't see how foolish your posts are, but others can, and that's why they get screen shotted - for posterity.

Hey Gary

Don't like KFC chicken is one of the main reasons. I prefer Popeyes. And I'd rather support (for getting a sandwich) a business that is more in line with my belief system - ergo preferring the Chik-fil-A sandwich, which tastes good and their waffle fries are better than the wedge fries you get from KFC from my experience. The KFC ones area always "soggy". The Chik-fil-A ones are a little healthier than your standard McDonalds fries. And speaking of McDonalds... their food is horrible in my opinion. Substandard ingredients that are a bare minimum of edibility. As several reports I've read stated (the thought similar to the below quote) There are VERY few fast food places I'll eat. And McDonalds has never been on that list.

Hey Gary

Gary, take my word for it.. it would take someone with a LOT more experience to get my "knickers in a twist". That's one of the benefits of working in law enforcement, corrections and IT as long as I did. I learned to suffer the foolish/ignorant very early on.

Hey Gary

Oooohh. and yet another edit to reply to. Gary.... only on Bash do I "harp" on it.. and I'll give you one guess why. And it involves you. The discussion on TAZ (which you are apparently banned from) has no discussion of price other than the jokingly posting an image of an almost $80,000 guitar that I used to convince the wife that what I had bought wasn't expensive. :p The only discussion involving cost is here and that's because I like the color green.
22. 13511

Hey Gary

Gary, I do it specifically because it's readily apparent it irritates you to no end that folks can afford to have expensive hobbies and be retired and you, being near the same age, are not in that position due to poor planning (and I'm being generous here) on your part. And as for posts on sites other than here - I've developed some good contacts with folks that are also interested in the same interests due to those "bragging" posts.
23. 13511

Hey Gary

Now it's time for me to go take a 2 hour "power" nap.
24. 13511

Hey Gary

Gary, only in your world would someone be jealous/envious of you. The opposite is usually true, you are so jealous of others that it gets you into a rage. :emoji_laughing: Hell, I've gone many a time to help people pick up equipment that was WAY more valuable than those little motor homes you are talking about... think a D-10 Cat (even a late 90's model goes for near $125,000+) Bobcats (in the $30K used range) and similar... and I don't charge them to do it (which I'm pretty sure you are getting funded to provide the "service" you do). I do it because they are friends of mine. And as you would be able to tell, I haven't "bragged" about doing any of this until replying to your post, as I don't really consider it something to "brag" about as it's what friends do for each other - but odds are the person you are assisting is not a friend but an individual that you have a "business" arrangement with.
25. 13511

Hey Gary

No hot under the collar to it... just find it amusing you are bragging about spending other peoples money... of course, folks that don't have money typically like to brag about spending other peoples money. And I see you do not refute the fact that you aren't the purchaser of the items in question, only the delivery boy. Hope they stopped off to get you some KFC Zingers. I had to actually look up what a Zinger was since I don't eat at KFC... no thanks, I prefer the chicken sandwiches from Chik-fil-A. That's got to be a really regular job... what is this, 3 times in about 6 months? Really building up that retirement account at that rate!!!
