Hey Gary

Probably 2 reasons. #1 - It apparently annoys you #2 - To force people to register if they really want to see what is being posted there (and it annoys you)

Hey Gary

Ahhhhh.. but the question is Gary, how much of that is beneficial content?

Hey Gary

Or in the above screenshot are you speaking Garyish again and mean that you can't be bothered with explaining why you did it the weird nonstandard way that you did for a staff area. It's really hard to figure out exactly what you mean when most of us speak plain English and you speak Garyish. In either case, you can't effectively explain away why an admin would have a STAFF only area (again, from your description of what it is used for) visible to guests to the site. The whole purpose of an archived thread is so that it isn't removed from the site but allows reference back to it - and prevents further posting to it. Generally it is used because there is good information in there, but the discussion is stale. The purpose of a STAFF only area is for staff discussions and possibly to maintain threads for later reference that the public should not have access to. Now, it's time for me to go grab some Fajitas from the local Tex Mex restaurant and after eating doing my 3rd set of 45 minute guitar practice on the guitar I'll never learn to play.

Hey Gary

In plain English then Gary, you are to lazy to do it the correct way since it's a STAFF only area by your earlier statement(s). TGS.

Hey Gary

Gary, a knowledgeable admin would KNOW that if it's a STAFF only area (for archiving) then it should only be VIEWABLE by staff at the index page. Guess what... it's not hidden.. and to top it off it's in an area called... ready for this... Community Related Section. If it was a STAFF only area, then a reasonable person would expect it to be in another section that is NOT viewable by the community. So, you may know how to "set it up" better than what you think Mark does... but your reasoning leaves a LOT to be desired when it comes down to the way it SHOULD be set up.
6. Loves and hugs to you also. I have my brand new 26 inch hickory baton all polished up for you.

Hey Gary

Isn't it also called a stove (or range) over in England? When I see "cooker" I think of a pressure cooker, or a crock pot (also called slow cooker). And if Gary is going to be appropriate in the Brit slang, he should be talking about using Brillo pads to clean those hobs (what we US people refer to as elements). I don't think you would use a Brillo pad on a white finish.
8. Need a "Zinger" like emblem.
9. Actually I think he fantasizes about it. He apparently has a night stick fetish along with a desire to wear nice shiny metal bracelets.

Hey Gary

Well, since I've taken the forums down I haven't been hanging out over there so haven't noticed. ;)

Hey Gary

It's not written in it.. but it is not unknown for stuff like that to be included. Just look at LiteSpeed and their license restriction that they had on pron sites using it.

Hey Gary

Gary, it doesn't really take a rocket scientist to figure out if the comments that are being made to them involve your site/name and bash that it is involving those two "parties". If there had been proof then someone would end up banned (if they aren't already). And you can find what the "don't be so dramatic" refers to... IF you join here and look in the chat archive. And here is the "dramatic" post that he was commenting on... of course there were other comments by others relating to revocation, but the point of this one is that if they DID choose to do so, they would have to have adequate grounds and the proof to back it up. And honestly.. odds are it's not you doing it on the XF2 site but it is someone that believes you have no business there since you will, in most likelihood, never own a license of XenForo and even if you did you would never be able to get support for it over on their site until your existing ban is lifted. It's the same way that most likely some of your "guest" posts that are somewhat supportive of you are at least one individual from here that wants to stir the pot amongst everyone.

Hey Gary

Really Gary? Where did you read that? Unless you can link directly to where that was said, other than here then you are incorrect. I really don't think that's what Chris said.. more like what you interpreted (incorrectly I might add). As you can see, barring direct evidence that "Ozzy Osborne" is @SneakyDave your statement is specious at best. With the way you harp about the XF developers "not doing anything about it", that causes you to look as guilty - if not more so - than anyone from here. Therein lay their dilemma. Again, see - this is the benefit of having a site/forum that doesn't regularly have the posts/chat wiped at the various whim(s) of the owner.
14. Sorry, never need to impersonate anyone else. I've got the balls to post with my real name when I tell you to go rim a syphilitic lady of the evening. And if you would look the word up, you would quickly see who was correct and who is ignorant. And yes, I am well acquainted with life (and death) and have seen more of both than most people (short of being in combat) will ever see. Now, time to go an play some Borderlands 2... just got through with my 3rd 30 minute guitar session (practice) for the day on those cheap guitars.
15. Pretty sure it's referred to as vicariously and not curiously.

Hey Gary

Now now... don't start confusing the guy with facts. He's confused enough as it is.
17. It's one of the reasons that I only ran one style on my sites when I had them up. WAY to much work to try and keep up with multiple styles.
18. 13511

Hey Gary

One British slang that slays me... "Taking the piss". Makes me think that the person is talking about golden showers. :emoji_bath:

Hey Gary

Ahhhh.. the jealously and rage is strong with this one Gary, ye old sod, my sites had more real user activity than yours has in the last 5 years. And I guess once someone quits doing something all their knowledge evaporates.... or maybe that's only in your world. Most people have a tendency to retain knowledge - are you saying that you can't? BTW, it's only around 28 pipes - not all of which I smoke. And honestly, my blog has more interesting content than your so called forum does. The only place your "forum" beats my blog is in sheer hilarity.
20. 13511

Hey Gary

No Gary, that is NOT the purpose of an archived forum for most real admins. The purpose of an archived forum is for topics that have exceeded a certain point in age to be moved into and the discussion closed so no further comments can be added - and to top it off they are generally viewable (read only mode) by the general public.
21. 13511

Hey Gary

Gary, what you call a "trick" is what most people would call an auto defensive response to a comment that had validity. You don't keep your site online long enough to need an "archived" forum node. That's for posts discussions that are years old, not days/weeks. So sorry, you lose once more in the battle of wits.
22. 13511

Hey Gary

And now to get his simmering rage going. I'm waiting on 11am to get here so I can make a quick run over to Tyler and pick up a Fishman Loudbox Artist. Already paid for it online and just need to go grab it and bring it home to daddy.
23. 13511

Hey Gary

Gary... your moving a recent thread over into the archived area because of the above post is hilarious. Thanks for the lulz.
24. 13511

Hey Gary

Gary, can you (or does anyone else want to take a stab at) explain why you have this section When you don't keep your site up long enough to have enough posts that would ever even need to think about being archived? Since you wipe regularly (good sanitary practices I guess) your site never has content old enough to need to be archived.
