1. No, it gives you factual information involving gravity, which controls the flow of water downhill. If the mouth of the river is to the north and the head is from a mountain to the south, guess which way it's going to flow (hint, it follows gravity which forces water to flow from the high point to the low point).

3. Dayum... is it Christmas time already? Guess Gary doesn't know the difference between EOL and EOM. Well, since you are are accomplished at customizing the code of the chat you should be competent to customize the code to work with phpBB 3.2. So there should not be any issue with running it on 3.2, right? I'm sure the developer would be more than willing to work with someone who was willing to help get the code updated to work with 3.2. Does phpBB still require editing templates to add mods? Or have they finally gotten past that weak point? And as for using PHP 5.4... some people have a "I'm with stupid" t-shirt on with an arrow pointing at their head. Why use something that has been EOL for a while and, by the admission of the php developers, may open you up to issues? At a bare minimum you should be on 5.6, and preferably the 7.0/7.1 versions. Both 7.0 and 5.6 EOL in December 2018. If you can run it, 7.1 is MUCH better for longer support AND from a performance aspect. Even 7.0 outperforms 5.6. Same with the script to run the forum with. Running an EOL/EOM script opens oneself up to security holes unless one can fix said intrusion points themselves. If one can't do this, then see comment about the t-shirt above and apply here.
4. Yep, but the point was for responsiveness itself... which is an easily resolved issue, making it a non-issue in the real world. If fact, I think now responsiveness is handled via the styles. You are very welcome for the free lesson even though it wasn't targeted for you - but if you needed it what can I say.... I do so enjoy giving the occasional literary lesson to the illiterate.
5. Sorry Gary, it was WAY more than 5 minutes. In fact, that phpBB install was still in place until recently when I took the sub-domain offline to use for another domain since the NameCheap hosting only allows the use of 3 domains on that low-end shared hosting account. And last time I looked, you were still running phpBB 3.1 (by your own admission).... so in a comparative to YOUR current site, myBB is STILL actively developed in the 1.8 line and phpBB 3.1 reaches EOL status 12/17 Did phpBB ever get official for PHP 7.x versions? It is besides the point anyway from my POV as if I brought a new site online I'd either use IPS or XenForo (depending on the needs of the site). BTW Gary, 2011 was 6 years ago... pretty sure that 1.8 wasn't out then. You would have been using 1.4 or possibly 1.6 series (which was released around that time). Like comparing phpBB 3.0 or earlier to even 3.1 line.
6. Sorry Gary... I've used both and based upon many factors, myBB was better than phpBB - especially if comparing phpBB 3.1 to myBB 1.8. And Tool, responsiveness is very easy to enable with myBB. Takes all of about 3 minutes to do (for those slow pokes) via an add-on. And it's actively... activity is a noun - which is a person, place or thing. Actively is an adverb, which modifies verb, an adjective, or another adverb.
7. I guess it's OK for those that need a pre-packaged Softaculous install process. But anyone that does a manual install of it and chooses it over some of the better free scripts out there are a few bricks shy of a full load in my opinion. But honestly, NONE of the free scripts (old forum style) are worth a shit as far as interface goes now. They are ALL so ancient in appearance. You have the newer stuff my Discourse and Flarum, but of those, 1 takes a special install environment.
8. Overall, phpBB really is a suck-ass script. Even in the 3.2 line it's horrible. I much prefer running myBB for a free script - and I'm not even crazy about myBB, but TO ME it's worlds better than phpBB.
9. About to come off and turned into pulled pork.
10. Looks like "maybe". :) You can apparently do your own for your and friends use, but you can't distribute them. Looks like they have a weird copyright routine where it lasts the length (the music) for the authors life then an extra 75-90 years after death.
11. Finding all kinds of sites that have guitar tab sheet music... and so far every one that is of any quality I've found is a pay-gated site. Really tempted to take one of my XF licenses that I have with the RM and install it on a domain (to be determined) and allow uploading/downloading of tablature music on it.

13. Tool bitching about an totally unmoderated forum. Heck, when I had assholesr.us up and running Discourse, it was totally unmoderated. Got no participation to mention so ended up just taking it down as it wasn't worth the time/effort involved.
14. But then that requires you to use their CDN service - and I've had many an issue at their free level myself. I only use them for DNS service.
15. Other than NameCheap not supporting them natively in their cPanel. They want you to buy theirs. Most other shared hosting providers DO support LE in their cPanel setups.
16. Well, not everybody. ;) But some of us do have a life and do other things that involve other than sitting in the house behind a keyboard all the time. :scream:
17. Hell, they've redone the US currency several times... what happens is as it processes through the bank it is set aside and sent to the FDIC and new bills issued in return for it. No "special" needs to go through... spend it as normal and the bank processes it and exchanges it for new currency. Sounds like folks bitching just to be bitching.
18. Yeah, Gary's command of the written word in English leaves a little to be desired... But on a side note... what's the bitching about? If you got old coins, go to the bank and exchange them... and if getting them in the store currently as change take them to the service counter and refuse to accept them and demand they exchange for the new one - albeit they ARE still valid money for use in purchases/exchanges. Apparently the banks will still exchange them after the cut-off date. Why should a store be expected to perform the actions of a bank when it's the banking/government structure that has control of the monetary exchange.
19. What I don't understand is that XenForo site already HAS a test area you can post in on XF2.
20. Can't do post ratings when trying to like the Tracy Chapman youtube video.
21. Typical liberal/anarchist tendency. Rules only apply to others but not them.
22. Gary is not going to to change any more than Tool/Vice/Mr. Driptsu is. Now, time to go practice on the guitar some more..... bends are kind of hard to do correctly when you are partially deaf!
