One of these days I'll get the telescope out along with the ASI 1600MM Pro and work on some photography. Haven't been able to get out into any dark sky areas, and the trip we planned to the Davis Moutnains State Park (dark area in the west part of Texas near Mexico - Big Bend National Park area) has been curtailed due to them being closed until recently for camping reservations. Target is to go there and stay for a week in the Winnebago and take both telescopes and use the cameras with them. Will probably target in July thru August as there are better views, especially of the Milky Way - which I want to get some time lapse photos of.

I've probably got more invested in my astronomy stuff than Gary makes in a year. It's nice to be retired and pulling in right at 100K a year.

 

And as for the site... it's the same that it's been since it was brought into being. No wipes, restores or anything. And the users that are there are actual users, not made up ones or folks that came over to troll. Gary worries to much about others.... and he would NOT be welcome as a user on any of my sites, even if he could afford the hobbies that they are targeted towards.

And, as an aside, the site has been live for almost 2 years... I don't even visit it that much, just to check the RSS feeds to see if anything new interests me..... oh, and to moderate the users that are caught by the anti-spam functions.

Gary makes a cool 10k a year on the dole. I don't think Gary ever made more then 15k, even at his prime when he was shoveling dirt for a living.

It's a learned skill. Just have to know what buttons to push, and anything dealing with purchasing something he can't afford is a big button that sets him off almost every time.... and his memory is piss poor - that was my son and one of his friends riding the trikes with the LED lights on them. Guess he's never heard of the phrase "more is better", especially when dealing with lighting on road bikes/trikes. We got rid of the trikes because we wanted to do mountain bike riding so purchased 2 Trek bicycles.

As for "police wannabe" - well, I did that for 14 1/2 years, so no need to "wannabe" was I was a wasabe.

Guitars are still here, and we got a 27'11" Winnebago that replaced the little motorcycle trailer - which looked dinky behind the 2019 Toyota Tundra (second one since a tree fell on the first one, taking it and our other trailer out).

Just glad you are here! Gary won't say it, but he's glad you are here too. I know you don't like to visit him too often, but please remember to check in on him now and then. It keeps him calm and not so nutty.

 

His quality time left on earth is winding down, best you keep in contact with him and cherish the memories. God knows we have a bunch of them here documented from the past few years.
