I wouldn’t be surprised if the content copyright holders were the ones who tipped the police off. They track people illegally downloading which is why you might get a warning from your ISP as they pass that info on and the ISP's are required to contact you and warn you. As a civil case isn’t really viable if you know the downloaders are in a country where that content is illegal it’s a good way of getting ride of pirates

I asked that my XenForo account be terminated because of this quote by Chris D on TAZ:

I know most people who think pedophilia is wrong (apparently not too many people on TAZ do) won't terminate their XenForo accounts to try and force them to do the right thing, but you can hit them where it hurts by not renewing any license associated with XenForo.

It’s super weird you are an admin here and are going out of your way to downplay/handwave this. I’m actually going to permanently leave this community over it, but felt it was worth explaining why. As mentioned in chat, somebody at Dragonbyte Tech took the care to globally replace "Iain" in post messages with "Cosmic", so as to hide his posts on the forum perhaps?

 

These Google search results have references to "Iain", but visiting the thread, you can see that they have all been changed to "Cosmic".

It appears Iain Kidd also goes by the userid "Decado". I assume somebody just came up with "Cosmic" to scrub DragonByte® Technologies | Premium Mods & Addons of any references to him.

I was looking at that a few days sgo. Nothing recent in there that indicates anything has changed since the owners were convicted.

As I mentioned in chat, there have been no posts on XF by DBT for two days now.

 

I am hoping either XF have asked them shut up, or they themselves have realised the situation is untenable.

 

I genuinely don't understand why they'd want to be presenting themselves to the world like this. There's a time to crawl into a hole and this is surely it. I've never seen anything quite like it. How can they even begin to think they could just carry on like nothing's happened?

 

And the deceit surrounding Iain Kidd's name on their forum...shows their true feelings. It's all about keeping the money rolling in.

 

I remain as horrified today as the day this news came out. I recommended these guys to people....ugh.

On which forum? DBT forum or XenForo.

 

I don't know how Chris D could post what he did on TAZ forum about them stopping on XenForo. Does he not realise there was 3 people involved in this together, all 3 of them charged and dealt with together. 2 of them are directors of DBT company and Chris D thinks it's okay to continue letting them operate selling mods on XenForo.

 

I'm lost for words...
