Gary... as I I stated on TAZ, effective 07/01 the sites were coming down. I actually stopped the server on 06/30/2017. Tired of running 'em and really have other pursuits I'd rather do - like the guitar and taking some road trips in the convertible. When something is no longer fun, it ceases to be a hobby and becomes a chore. And being a chore that is not required one, it's something that can be removed from the daily routine. Unlike you, I don't have a fixation on having to have a site or sites up. Hell, for $10 a month I can get a nice VPS from RamNode to run the sites on - but guess what, I don't want to hassle with them any longer. I was going to get a VPS and set up my mail server to continue getting the domain related emails, but I'm so burned out on all things internet like that I'm not even going to do that. I figured out I'm better at generating content on other folks sites than generating content on my own - since I generally spend more time on other sites than my own. I am almost tempted to register this domain and keep the cheap shared hosting site I got from namecheap just to "honor" you. Mark's forum belongs in a museum now. And I'd love to know why he styles his forum in such a way - as to appeal to 6 year-olds, and uses comic sans for logo font. And I've never seen so many "animated kiddy avatars" used by members on a forum, but then we all know they ain't real members. I'm not going to do something just because you think you can/have/will "tempt/pressure" me into it. I'm actually an adult and have the ability to control my urges. Although, I may end up registering a domain to do some simple blogging on, but I still have here that I can use without any of the hassles or simply host it with them for a custom domain and that leaves me with none of the headaches of maintaining the server/scripts. Part of me does hate just letting the scripts lay fallow, but I'm not into selling stuff because I "need the money". I can easily just sit on those scripts from now until I die and it isn't a big thing to me. Hell, 3-4 years from now I may get the bug again. And yes Gary, I budget (you know, that word you use when you do have money to spend) a set amount of money for my hobbies. It averages about $400 a month that I can "guarantee" outgo for. Then I have another $300 I do into a savings account that lets me pay cash for stuff (don't really like credit for anything but housing/cars). Oh, and yes, I have a special checking account just FOR that purpose. That way if I find something I want that's more than what is currently in the account I simply transfer the funds from the savings account to what I call my "fun shit" account. I'm sure I could get some "free" hosting from some folks I know that already have servers (set up to run VM's)... but not interested in doing it. Heck, I've got the hardware here at the house (and business class cable modem service) and a server sitting in place at a local business (that actually has a fibre pull into the office with 100Mbps feed) that is already running CentOS that I could use if I chose to. The free wordpress blog I have will be as far as I'm really interested in going as I have to do NO maintenance on it. At the most I may pay the 2.99 a month to get my own domain on it - but then I need to get a good domain to use for that. I've started to do similar stuff for local businesses and sure as hell don't want to have a hobby that consists of what "work" does. I prefer something totally disassociated with it. Would be like having fishing as a hobby but being a fishing guide full time. Where's the "fun" in that? Quote

So several of us probably have other things going on. Me, I had to take the Fiat to the dealership due to a CEL being on - had already diagnosed it with my Bosch hand tool to be a P-0128 code which indicates the thermostat is stuck open. So had to have them order a new one (around a 4 week delay getting them in). Then I had to go by the PO to check the box for any new mail, run by the store to get stuff for the hamburgers & hotdogs for tomorrow and then go by the music store and pay the instructor for my upcoming classes. After doing that I went out and finished mowing the yard that I didn't get to do yesterday because I had so much fun yesterday on the site. Right now I'm sitting at the Mac doing some shopping on Amazon for a new camera body for my wife in case she does decide to keep up with the photography stuff she's wanting to do. Pretty much have settled on a Nikon D7500 for her (was looking at the D7200 also). Quote
