The guest posting rather spoils this place a bit. The guest posts aren't particularly funny or clever, and just make the site look a bit cheap and nasty to be honest.

 

There's plenty of 'real', verifiable people here. Why spoil it with guest posting? It just brings in silly trolls and spammers.

Lately, there are some that I've just ignored. Just complete nonsense from one source. I'll try to better job of separating the wheat from the chaffe. I think it provides value, but doesn't work well just to submit snarky posts.

Oh give me a break Mark, at least they are straight up attacks or whatever towards GTB/Gary vs your passive-aggressive "I really love you gary and I'm worried for you" approach, and then slamming him every chance you get.

 

And yes, they are way funnier than anything you've posted.

I don't 'really love' Gary, but I do not have the abject hate for him that one or two people have. I wish him no harm and I hope he's ok.

 

That, however, doesn't mean he's immune to criticism, and when he's pulling silly stunts like the past few days, it's perfectly ok to point that out.

 

What I don't like is the more personally absuive attacks, and also attacks on his family, all of which are below the bekt and not acceptable.

The guest posts and fake Gary account are doing this forum more harm than good. You can't take anyone who hides their identity in such a way, serious. I agree with Mark, there are enough real people here to keep this place going.

And, it's a potentially joyous opportunity because many of us here are people who have not always got on elsewhere.

 

It's not dissimilar to how my site got started and fourteen years later it's still going strong.

 

I was trying to tell Gary he could have done the same but he wasn't listening.

I've made some changes so that it can still be used for people to provide content, but weeds out most of the junk. It's not too hard to identify that.
