We get it, you made your point, we know your opinions - and by all means roast away for *new* issues. Really.. WHAT actual "assertion" did I make... other than simply that IPS dropped a search engine and did not have one in place at the time to replace it with, other than a promise of "we are working on it".

Or that IPS sold "lifetime licenses" (and sorry, I don't CARE whether you think that was smart or not or that it was a good financial decision, they frigging DID it) and then refused to "honor" lifetime by "changing the name/version number". If I purchased lifetime supply of gasoline (an actual product) from a store, and they renamed their store or started carrying a different brand of gas but ownership remained the same, it doesn't preclude the continued validity of the "lifetime license" for their product by trying to weasel out of it by saying "we renamed our store" or "it's a different fuel provider"? Pretty sure that anyone with the funds that wanted to push that in civil court would win. I CAN see if they SOLD the business to another that they could get out of it... but guess what, those points do not fit the IPS position (and yes, I have some history involving civil suits). The secret is does the "client" have deep enough pockets. Most won't push the issue as the actual cost is MORE than what the return is worth. Or that they are pushing more and more towards SaaS for their licensing and that self-hosted will probably be a dead-dodo in about 2 years of their product (which they have alluded to already)? Sorry you may get ass-hurt by those, but they are ALL facts (and easily documentable as even with the self-hosted their head-honchos admit it is on a decline and will be a thing of the past in the future - they simply don't say how FAR in the future, and IPS has a habit of "suddenly" dropping items - shown by FACTUAL HISTORY). And they are READILY apparent about their push to get you onto their cloud site when it's not really needed. The user he is replying to has NO need to upgrade to their SaaS offering... ALL they need to do is find a hosting provider that offers PHP 8.x series. Explain to me exactly how pushing someone to a $90 plan when compared to a $15 hosting provider benefits the client? And suggesting the client find a hosting provider that can support the script would have been a more "customer friendly" choice.
