Xenforo will terminate your license if they don't like your content?

Is XenForo now monitoring all XF forums for hosted content?

What are the details here? If someone at XF doesn't like your content, they term your license?

XenForo's being very careful with their statements here, and lock every thread started about the subject.

 

"Xenforo doesn't care about the content you host" is the official line. But if anybody complains about your content, then XenForo is acting like they have no choice but to revoke your license on a whim. That's probably the legal way they have to explain it. Once they revoke a license, they can tell the complainer to go to the host with the issue, and wash their hands of it.

 

It could be one thread or one post that somebody doesn't like. They can complain to XenForo until they give in and revoke your license. You'd think there'd have to be some kind of legal action involved, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

 

Not sure if there was UK legislation that made them just put in this clause of their license agreement on July 7th, 2021. Anybody downloading the software on or after this date has to abide by that agreement.

So if you had a private forum for Steeler fans, XenForo could revoke your license if you didn't allow a shit bird Ravens fan in it, because that could be construed as discriminatory. Just calling someone a shit bird Ravens fan could get your license revoked. Just takes a little determination and a bunch of emails to XF.

20 years ago, we had an arcade add-on, lolz. wtf does that matter? Why brag about something you obviously haven't done often in 20 years, and then suddenly have to put it in the license agreement, and within 6 months, enforce it?

 

They have to keep locking threads because they don't want a nutter to know how easy XF will cave to their demands and get licenses yanked.

 

Not sure why they removed your post, and then put it back. They are scared of something.

This license is expired and I haven't downloaded an upgrade to have to agree to the vague, updated, license, so it wouldn't apply here.

 

But who knows, maybe a new vague woke license agreement will be enacted that supercedes all others?
