SneakyDave Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 5 years ago. Osama Bin Laden was killed by special forces in Pakistan. In my opinion, I think this is Obama's biggest accomplishment of being the Commander in Chief. During this same period of time, he was taking some heat from the birthers, demanding that he release his birth certificate to prove his American citizenship. I'll doubt this will be remembered as one of his top achievements, but to me, it serves as a reminder that one of the primary jobs of the president it to ensure the safety of the US. fool Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 LMAO! Obama accomplished no such thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4L_EW6sci0 View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4L_EW6sci0 Quote
fool Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Bin Laden was effectively a prisoner when he was executed. He was basically murdered, not that I have any love for the guy. Quote
SneakyDave Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 Well, I certainly agree that he (Obama) had little to do with the actual raid and execution of Osama, but it was on his watch. Just like 9/11 was on Bush's watch. Executed or murdered, what's the difference? Doesn't matter if they gave him a submission toe-hold for all I care. I don't believe any of that "prisoner" crap. fool Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 If you watched the interview, and this was an explosive story where Seymour Hearsh put all his credibility on the line (anyone familiar with politic should know who this guy is), there was no such thing as hide and seek. The US government know of his whereabouts (and his position as prisoner for at least six years) a year and three months in advance. ROD, you're too gullible. Quote
SneakyDave Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 I remember when this "bombshell" came out, but it's one guy's story. Wasn't he trying to sell a book? I'd love to think it's a true story, because I'm not a great Obama fan, but as far as I know, the SEALs that have talked have basically confirmed the same account by the government. fool Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 How on earth can the SEAL team know about CIA works? They are not covert intelligence people, they are military executor. The crux of the story is not about how SEAL executed bin Laden. But on the allegation that bin Laden was not hiding for years. He was imprisoned by Pakistan with hush money by the Saudi. Which later was leaked to the US. Quote
fool Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 I don't believe any of that "prisoner" crap. You forgot or ignorant of one simple fact; bin Laden compound is near the Pakistani army barrack. Quote
SneakyDave Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 And, what? Because it's near an Army barrack, that instantly describes Osama's base as a "prison"? :p Has anyone else come out, supporting this claim? fool Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 And, what? Because it's near an Army barrack, that instantly describes Osama's base as a "prison"? :p You know, we're not talking about Hollywood movie here. A compound is not an ordinary house and it's certainly would not be missed by the Pakistani military and intelligence especially with armed men guarding it. We're not talking about a compound in the middle of nowhere but in a city where a big army barrack exist. Has anyone else come out, supporting this claim? Probably years later when it is not sensitive any longer. Currently, no one want to go out especially with whistle-blowers going to jail left and right. We're talking about Seymour Hearsh here, a high caliber journalist with a lot of contacts. He's not your everyday run of the mill Joe Blow. As a side note, there's no reason to believe anything said by the official government record as well. We all know the government lie all the time and Hearsh's track record is excellent. The choice is yours. 1 Quote
fool Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Executed or murdered, what's the difference? The difference is legally under international law. Execution can be legal (judicial) or illegal (extra-judicial) but murder is illegal. But based upon my experience as a historian for hobby, international relationship is not governed by the rule of law. There is no justice, only politic. Quote
SneakyDave Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 The end result is the same. He dead. I don't really think I care how they came about it, how it happened, or who took credit for it. Sheldon Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Same.... He's dead. Or not.... Or who cares. Whatever it was, or is, or might not be, is a simple reminder of bullshit American politics. Quote
fool Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 I wish Taichi Master is here. His opinion as an ex special force member would be extremely valuable. Quote
SneakyDave Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 what do you guys think Obama's biggest accomplishment was? HealthCare.gov? Uh.... is there something I'm missing?
