Paul Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 New one for me. George Jones and Keith Richards The Rolling Stones are great country music musicians. I'm reading "Life" by Keith Richards right now, it's a very interesting book. 1 Quote
SneakyDave Posted February 25, 2022 Author Posted February 25, 2022 That probably one of my favorite biographies. Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
SneakyDave Posted February 25, 2022 Author Posted February 25, 2022 I haven't read it in a few years, but I remember "Keef" mentioning that he loved to play Happy during a lot of their shows Probably one of the only Rolling Stones songs they let Keith sing lead on. 1 Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
Paul Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 I haven't read it in a few years, but I remember "Keef" mentioning that he loved to play Happy during a lot of their shows Probably one of the only Rolling Stones songs they let Keith sing lead on. Happy is my favorite song by the Stones with Keith as lead, it's also one of my favorite song by the Stones, period. I never heard the song "Connection" until not too long ago, a lot of people like that song from what I've seen on FB and from the reaction I saw at their concert last October. Quote
SneakyDave Posted February 26, 2022 Author Posted February 26, 2022 I probably posted these stones songs already in this thread somewhere, but these are some early blues numbers they did, really raw "She was common, flirty, she looked about 30, I would have run away but I was on my own She told me later, she's a machine operator, she said she liked the way I held the microphone" No idea what kind of guitar Brian Jones is playing here "Don't wanna see her fraid of what I find Tired of lettin her upset me all the time Back into bed started reading my book Take my phone right off of the hook" 1 Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
SneakyDave Posted February 26, 2022 Author Posted February 26, 2022 Since we're talking about the stones, and I had a little whiskey, Mick Jagger had a good album that he collaborated with Lenny Kravitz on. Here's a cover of Bill Withers' 'Use Me' And if I remember correctly, Kravitz wrote this song with Jagger in mind 1 Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
SneakyDave Posted February 26, 2022 Author Posted February 26, 2022 The Doors don't get enough attention anymore. I think they are one of those bands that are starting to fade out of recognition unless you're an old stoner. I was probably born too late, this is good stuff (me on keys) Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
Paul Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 I can't believe I never knew Jagger and Kravitz did a collaboration until today, that's good stuff. The first cassette tape my wife ever bought was an album by The Doors after the fall of communism in Romania and when western music was finally allowed in the country. Her boss here in the United States is a HUGE Doors fan. It irritates the hell out of me that the only "classic rock" station in my area never plays songs by The Doors and other bands from that era anymore, now they play songs from the late 80's and the 90's. 1 Quote
Paul Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 I had to show this to someone at work who had never seen it before. It’s one of the funniest sitcom scenes I can remember ever seeing. 1 Quote
