Paul Posted March 18, 2022 Posted March 18, 2022 I love this song. Jackson Browne seems like a pretty underrated musician and someone who will be forgotten about soon. I would bet that none of my younger coworkers know who he is or could name any of his songs. 1 Quote
SneakyDave Posted March 18, 2022 Author Posted March 18, 2022 I dated a girl that was a huge Jackson Browne fan, and I started appreciated him. Saw him at Red Rocks in Coloroado, and about 5 years ago here in Omaha. Always a good show if you like a good singer songwriter. 2 of my favorite songs from him, one about masturbation, and the other about cocaine, what a combination. Well I guess I might have known from the start She'd come for a star Well I told my imagination not to run too far Of all the times that I've been burned By now you think I'd've learned That it's who you look like, Not who you are I was talking to my doctor down at the hospital He said, "Son, it says here you're twenty-seven, but that's impossible Cocaine... you look like you could be forty-five https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeUY74WvuWU View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeUY74WvuWU 1 Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
13511 Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Keep your new shit. I'll keep listening to the late 70's, 80's and early 90's. 2 Quote
SneakyDave Posted April 4, 2022 Author Posted April 4, 2022 I was watching Euphoria with my daughter, and heard this Elvis cover and wondered what new hip band covered it. It's turns out, it's Billy Swan from 1976! The one hit wonder "I Can Help" Billy Swan. Sounds like a slowed down Cheap Trick cover. Great song 1 Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
Paul Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Sounds like a slowed down Cheap Trick cover. LOL, yes it does. "I Can Help" is a great song. 1 Quote
SneakyDave Posted April 14, 2022 Author Posted April 14, 2022 Haven't heard any tracks from Kid Rock's new album, or whatever they call them these days. I always liked his more country songs 1 Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
SneakyDave Posted April 14, 2022 Author Posted April 14, 2022 Lucinda Williams has a wide range of different music types, and some interesting lyrics. I heard the Robert Plant/Allison Krause version of this and was happy to hear that it was a Williams' song. It's a great song with a familiar message Robert Plant/Allison Krause version. Always weird to see Plant performing a bluegrass song Check out the maraca in the drummer's shoe 1 Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
Paul Posted April 16, 2022 Posted April 16, 2022 It's only 3 chords... and a whole lot of feeling. 1 Quote
SneakyDave Posted April 23, 2022 Author Posted April 23, 2022 Oh yeah, here's one of my favorites, a bluesy number "I met an old mistake walking down the street today I met an old mistake walking down the street today I didn't want to be mean about it But I didn't have one good word to say" Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone

SneakyDave Posted June 6, 2022 Author Posted June 6, 2022 As I mentioned in chat, I'm finally watching The Sopranos series on HBO. A lot of great songs featured in those shows. Here's another one of the songs the Stones let Keith sing. 1 Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
SneakyDave Posted June 9, 2022 Author Posted June 9, 2022 I love Faron Young and 'Hello Walls' as well as the scappy young singer songwriter that wrote it 1 Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
SneakyDave Posted June 9, 2022 Author Posted June 9, 2022 What a smooth song from the 70's. A complete nerd out of his element, and what's up with this choreographing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u06A-77TN4 View: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1u06A-77TN4 1 Quote "I wonder if wife Susie knows about the vile crap he posts on his site and how it fits in with her "youth ministry"?" - Dr. Howard Rosenzweig, former owner of TheAdminZone
Paul Posted June 9, 2022 Posted June 9, 2022 I love Faron Young and 'Hello Walls' as well as the scappy young singer songwriter that wrote it I knew Willie had sung "Hello Walls" but I did not know he was responsible for writing it. Young Willie Nelson kind of looks like a young Joe Pesci in that video. 1 Quote
