Sandyman Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 The XF thread(s) on TPZ (ThePedoZone) were pretty interesting...the fanboi's called out the slow pace and lackluster features of XF development, and then when Chris posted his one and only post (2 posts later lol) they got back on the fan train. I wonder if when Kier and Mike hired Chris, they were honest and told him he'd be the primary and most likely only coder going forward? Love it or hate it, Discourse is taking over the world, and with the amount of features they release, and some of the cool new shit they are doing, it isn't a surprise. They've innovated more in the few years they've been around then the XF and IPS teams have combined, and don't even bring WBB into this, all they do is copy IPS and XF features and release them 6 to 9 months later. Sandyman Posted June 23, 2019 Author Posted June 23, 2019 Discourse is too difficult for the average person to install and maintain. More #fakenews - if you can ssh to a server, you can install and update Discourse. I agree though if you are a cPanel or Plesk "systems admin" then yes, Discourse is too difficult to install.
