SneakyDave Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Assuming Trump and Clinton will be the presidential nominees this summer, the media and their opponents will be focusing on these big items in their attacks. For Trump, it'll be his reluctance to disclose his tax returns. Currently, he claims to be under an audit, and won't release them. But I think if he gets the Republican nomination, there will be a larger focus on this issue, and more attacks that he isn't as rich as he claims to be. If Trump does win the nomination, can he afford to keep paying for his campaign himself? I don't think so. He's going to have to ask for money sometime in the near future. For Clinton, the email scandal should be the biggest tactic to use against her, but there hasn't been much talk about it lately. It'll depend on the FBI, or other ongoing investigations, to make or break Clinton's support for the presidency. I think she's got more to lose than Trump in this regard, but she's been dodging scandals like this for quite a while. Sheldon Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I don't see the returns as being "too" bad. Sure, they will be used against him in negative ads, but honestly, I think his polling with women will be HRC's focus. For her, if I was Trump, I'd run the email scandal in the ground every day, as well as continuing The Bern and demand her speeches be released. I've seen most polls put her ahead, but I cannot fathom her winning head to head against him. All of his scandals are old news.... very old. Hers.... fresh memory and current. Quote
SneakyDave Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 I think people already know what Trump is about, love him or hate him, he isn't going to change that, and he probably can't say anything to offend the PC crowd any more than he already has. Shifting Hilary though, we'll see if she can stand up to the email scandal attacks, or cowardly claim that Trump is picking on her because she's a girl. Personally, I'm more concerned that Trump can finance the presidential campaign by himself. Hilary will surely have a billion+ to spend.
