I read that story earlier and watched the video, I think her accent sounds very nice and she should not get rid of it.

 

The UK has always had a huge variety of regional accents and I don't understand why this is suddenly an issue.

It's been going on since the beginning of mankind. If the redundant didn't have Polish people to blame all of their woes on, they would find a different group of people. I know a few people like Gary, they cause most of their troubles and they blame it on everyone else.

Accents can be useful. I talk fairly slow and with my southern accent typically get underestimated.

The slow speech was learned a long time ago shortly after I became a police officer. Doesn't help to be shouting and talking fast when in a pursuit.

I've listened (in my career) to several recording in court of audio from some pursuits I've been in and it was really fun to listen to other officers rattling stuff off at a rapid fire rate and I sound like I'm sitting in a lounge chair relaxing (other than the siren in the background) when I came on the radio.

 

Not to mention, for some reason the ladies seem to to like that southern drawl.
