Kent.S Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 And we bring you to the most vital point of all #4 - could you not have posted this reply in the same thread that the discussion was occurring in? For your ease of referral since you apparently have such difficulty I hyperlinked to it. Because of idiotic lunacy. Quote

13511 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Stop thinking like a lunatic. You're just started playing, you should concentrate on the basic first. Simple chords, consistent strum. No, you start by learning music theory.... and that does NOT consist of strumming but both chords and "picking" individual notes. If I was going to do that (the lazy man's way), I'd simply go learn via tablature. Exactly how many "music" lessons have you taken? And yes, I said MUSIC and not strictly instrument as what path I'm following applies basically to ALL instruments. Quote

After all, he is entitled to that since you own more than one guitar, by his thinking, he should be allowed to take one of yours for free. fool Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 You're going the wrong way. You're suppose to enjoy the instrument. Theories come later after you're able to play some basic things. At you're age, you're not suppose to get a degree in music. But maybe that's what you're up to and not really enjoying the guitar. Quote

At you're age, you're not suppose to get a degree in music. But maybe that's what you're up to and not really enjoying the guitar. I follow a path that many others have followed in the past. I have other instruments here than simply guitars (coronet, harmonica, keyboard, banjo, mandolin) that the theory will apply to. First you have to build up the foundation then you can start "decorating" it. And sounds like you are suffering from ageism. How typically liberal. Quote
fool Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 I follow a path that many others have followed in the past. Who? People picked up instruments when they see others play. They will try to mimic their friends and once they're sufficiently in love with the guitar, only then they'll venture into theory. I used to draw better than this when I was young. 13511 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Here ya' go. 14 reasons everyone should take music lessons - Metro Arts Maybe it would be beneficial for you.. pay special attention to #4 in that list. And most good instructors will ask you what you are there for, simply to learn to play the guitar or if you actually want to learn the theory behind music (which again opens up more than the guitar). I chose the latter option when my instructor asked. And as I said, it was because I want to be able to apply it to MORE than simply the guitar. Once you learn the theory behind the music, the rest is gravy - but it is rather "boring" to learn it but that's where perseverance comes in. I'm not a teenager (which is the age many "get into" guitars) and have bypassed that need to "mimic my friends". Quote

13511 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Yeah, you haven't answer my question. Whose path are you following? Yeah, I have - in fact, a couple of times What did the baboon say? (which infers music theory) What did the baboon say? (again infers music theory since that's the "foundation" of music) What did the baboon say? (which directly states which path I chose). Please, read and then comprehend.. it's not that difficult to do. I realize pictures are not involved, but the language used is not that difficult to understand and follow. Quote

13511 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 that chick is too young for your age logic still, good luck with your banjo The desire of what type music to play remains. May songs are actually NOT strumming (that's like performing as a backup singer). They are in the LEAD guitar role that most songs are known by. vs Both use chords, but one uses fingerpicking and the other uses strumming. Can you tell the difference? Oh, and the banjo is being used by my wife. I'm playing the with guitar, harmonica and keyboard (the keyboard very little) right now. Quote

fool Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 Cost to benefit ratio not there? What would we gain by going back to the moon? Originally what we gained was a lot of technology to get us there. I'd rather see a trip to Mars or one of the nearer planets than back to the moon - there would be benefits (gains) technologically there that would carry over to use here. Should be fairly easy to do... just figure out how quickly those other flat planets in our solar system circles the center of the solar system (Planet Earth) and then shoot a straight line out to it in the VW bug. #1 - in Texas (at least) you can use deadly force to protect a 3rd party, so personal threat is not required. There is also no requirement to "run away". No third party was in danger when the gun was unload. #2 - you don't see what the flamethrower idiot was doing prior to the discharge of the firearm so you can't say as a fact that he was not threatening a 3rd party, you are just ASSuming that as fact. Irrelevant. What the flamethrower did prior is tied to the previous context, not with the context where the gun was shot in which instance nobody was in danger. Your logic is typical of popo excuse used to kill people all the time. #3 - As I stated, if someone threatened ME with a flamethrower, they'd get some smaller objects thrown back at them and it would be justified No object was thrown at the shooter nor anyone else immediately before the lunatic shot his gun. 13511 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 @popo delusional i'm sure your path was the one jimmy page took Don't know, and really don't care. Not everyone walks the same path... hell, look at you. Your path led you down the one that involves requiring pictures to be able to gain knowledge and the inability to obtain it from the written word. Quote
13511 Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 No third party was in danger when the gun was unload. Statement with no supporting evidence from the video you linked to. That is a supposition held by you. Irrelevant. What the flamethrower did prior is tied to the previous context, not with the context where the gun was shot in which instance nobody was in danger. Your logic is typical of popo excuse used to kill people all the time. Not irrelevant. If, prior to the discharge he had ran up on someone "spraying" the flame towards them then the action would be totally justified. You are trying to argue facts not in evidence. What IS in evidence is the one carrying the flag apparently DID feel threatened by the poor helpless idiot using a can as a flamethrower Sure looks like the one outlined in blue is drawing backwards... if he wasn't worried/in fear then that would not be occurring. And I wonder why the ones behind that one outlined in blue aren't continuing to walk by if they aren't feeling a tad bit "threatened". Oh, look... he's just trying to turn his flag into a torch So, your selective vision ONLY sees what you want to see, you miss the byplay in the background. If you notice, the shooter is looking directly at this prior to discharging the firearm. No object was thrown at the shooter nor anyone else immediately before the lunatic shot his gun. Once again, problems understanding the written word. Let me make it simple. You point a fucking flaming can of anything at me in close proximity and I'll shoot your fucking ass until your action ceases. You know, very similar to what those pictures above with the pretty color highlight boxes shows. Quote

fool Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 I just feel so "discouraged"... Statement with no supporting evidence from the video you linked to. That is a supposition held by you. No third party was in imminent danger. If there is any, show me the evidence, otherwise there is none. I cannot prove a negative. The burden of proof is on your side. If, prior to the discharge he had ran up on someone "spraying" the flame towards them then the action would be totally justified. Absolutely not. From the video it's clear that the flame doesn't endanger anyone because of the sufficient distance. No imminent threat was presence. You point a fucking flaming can of anything at me in close proximity and I'll shoot your fucking ass until your action ceases. No one does and that makes you a murderer. The popo are well known killers, thugs with small penises and guns paid by the tax payers. At least other thugs use their own money. Quote
