Exactly... and guitars are something I've always liked the look of. I could make do with a room with 'em on all walls even if I couldn't play a note on them. Probably something to do with me enjoying listening to music so much and something about the beauty of a well made guitar that I've liked for a long time. The 28 series is one of the less "blingy" styles I could have gotten a 000-42 natural but I can't really see paying another 2+ grand for a little extra bling. And no Gary, none of the other guitars quite have that Martin sound. That's what they make their bread and butter from - it's a fairly unique sound and hard to duplicate. Some have gotten close... but I would really rather have the real thing. Kind of like eating caviar or going out and catching a fish and eating it's eggs and calling that caviar. Or buying Hi-Tech "trainers" instead of a pair of Nike's or Puma's. Hell, the Nike's are only about $20 more than what you paid for that "name brand" shoe. I'm starting to get bored with running them honestly and administering the server has lost a lot of the fun in it. So spending another $300 on something I may only keep online for a limited amount of time would be rather stupid when WBB is working OK for it right now. Unlike you, I don't obsess about the users. I run the scripts because I enjoy the challenge of them. Once that challenge is gone then the interest is gone. I'll probably keep my blog and the pipe site online on a VPS, but may not even do that. The fun on a server is getting it set up - once it's set up it's a rather mundane task on keeping it maintained - but you wouldn't know about that. And honestly... $125 a month isn't that big of a deal to me... unlike it is with you Gary. That's probably a week or two of mac & cheese for you. And it must really get your goat that those sites actually have REAL users on them that have made REAL posts - even if it's not daily. Quote

What Gary doesn't realize is that $3000 is average for a decent Martin. And if it's a Martin you want, then you'll pay that price. They have the cheaper HPL's, but they aren't the "real thang" when it comes to a Martin since they are made out of a laminate instead of "real" wood. It's pretty much the same with the Taylor's.
