SneakyDave Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 OMG, I just saw this on Medium. Adam's gone into hiding since May, but his last blog on Medium has details about his Google voice number that he tries to get people to call, on Saturdays. Whenever I call, I get a disconnected message, or a stock Google Voice recording telling me to leave a message. It's no wonder, because Adam claims that he received 20,000 CALLS IN ONE DAY. lollollollol. View: https://medium.com/@AdamBHoward/trumpcare-and-the-disconnect-of-congress-58a568089ca4 Trumpcare and the disconnect of Congress Since October 2016, I have invited my fellow Americans, to call me personally, every Saturday, between 8:00 am — 12:00 pm (413–282-VOTE). Google informs me that I received over 20,000 phone calls today and they all had 1 topic in mind, healthcare. There have been a lot of touching moments between then and now, but nothing like today. Today was a very humbling moment for me. — I cannot express into words on how many Americans today are truly living in fear. From east to west, from all over Massachusetts to California, I listened to the heartache & sometimes even tears of my fellow Americans. I am completely appalled by the actions of our elected officials, who have put this much level of fear & anger into The American People. A young voter from Boston, Massachusetts, said,“Here I thought all I had to fear was acts of terrorist, not members of Congress.”A Veteran from Ludlow, Massachusetts, said,“Is this really what I fought for? Do our leaders care so little for our lives?” It’s truly disgusting watching members of Congress laughing, literally, laughing, at the prospect of Americans dying without healthcare. Today it was heartbreaking to hear the fear and heartbreak from my fellow Americans & to know that it was Congress who put it there. My thought for members of Congress: If you cannot even care about Americans, why even bother to try to lead America?! Trump Care is more than poor judgment, it is an insult to The American People and by extension, an insult to our nation. Over 20,000 people, nation-wide, decided to express with me their views concerning “Trumpcare”. I can only imagine how many more calls members of Congress must have received, and yet it was Congress who supported Trumpcare. The disconnect between The American People and our elected officials clearly is wider than anyone originally thought. America needs elected officials who actually will represent The American People and not elected officials who only represent themselves. For the will of the people, should be your agenda. I want to thank everyone who called me today and I want to assure you all, that I not only strongly oppose “Trumpcare”, but believe that “Single Payer”, Medicare for us all, is the best solution. Healthcare should be the right of every citizen. Kent.S Posted September 9, 2017 Posted September 9, 2017 Given his four hour window, that means he took 83 calls a minute. He must be superman in disguise. Quote
