Ziggy Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 OK here is a interesting scenario. There is a thread on a XF forum you frequent. The thread has started to drift off topic a bit. A admin decides to split the off topic replies into its own thread, as to not contaminate the original posters topic. So said admin selects half (possibly all) of the off topic posts and splits them. Now only half of the posts get moved. Now the new thread is around for a hour or more and then vanishes. The other half of the off topic posts still remain in the original thread. Once more than one member brings up the issue that the split topic disappeared after being around for some time, and why half of the off topic posts remain in the original thread, you are presented with this excuse: "We're looking into what happened, seems a possible client connection/routing problem during the move." Now I have only been in the forum game for about 15 or so years, but that is something I have not experienced, threads just randomly disappearing, and only half of the posts I wanted to move do move. Anyone else experience such a thing? 1 Quote
