Going through some old twitter feeds, and saw this one from the former XenForo moderator: https://twitter.com/username/status/705527149411885058 View: https://twitter.com/peggygurney/status/705527149411885058 If it's true, condolences to her family. She used to have a web site that I followed from time to time. I think she had a lot of articles about special needs kids: http://peggygurney.com/

It looks like Paul B got in the act of using backhand comments to bash the haters. A group I am fond to be a part of. I didn't use to be. They made me that way with their arrogance and utter disrespect for anyone that doesn't worship xenforo and xenforo devs. He is talking about the announcement a few days ago when this Earth shattering feature and me and other reacted to it. You wait for years for a new version like 2.4 and you get nothing worth upgrading to it. All other forum software, including forum software that is free innovate. xenforo chooses to stagnate and rest on their laurels. And Paul B I will not shut up until you actually innovate.

Chris D proves once again he is incapable of interacting with customers on xenforo's support forums. Everytime he posts he makes himself and xenforo look bad. If you don't march to the xenforo company line and kiss the devs ass you get this. That is not a once in awhile type post. This occurs whenever someone doesn't praise xenforo. Speak your mind and feel the wrath of Chris D. The guy doesn't realize that while the vocal minority might kiss his ass the majority of the members think he is a tool. One day xenforo the company will wake and realize he is a liability.

To have some fun I asked Monica, an AI bot, what concerns users have. Here is what she said. Seems to be spot on. Yes, concerns about slow development in XenForo have been a topic of discussion among users. Here are some common points raised by the community: User Concerns Feature Requests: Users often feel that their feature requests take a long time to be implemented or addressed. Some users express frustration over the prioritization of certain features over others. Updates: There can be long gaps between major updates, leading to concerns about security and new features. Users may feel that competing platforms are releasing updates more frequently. Bug Fixes: Some users report that bugs take time to be resolved, impacting their experience on the platform. Delays in addressing critical issues can lead to dissatisfaction. Communication: Users sometimes feel that communication from the XenForo team regarding development timelines and priorities could be improved. Transparency about the development process is often requested. Community Reactions Forums Discussions: Many users express their frustrations in community forums, leading to heated discussions. Comparisons: Users may compare XenForo’s development pace with other forum software, which can lead to dissatisfaction. Conclusion While XenForo remains a popular choice for forum software, concerns about the pace of development can affect user satisfaction. Engaging with the community and providing feedback can sometimes help address these issues. Seems pretty much spot on. Slow dev times. Rarely, if ever is anything new added. Way to go Monica!!!!

I am a xenforo fan. Problem is they seem to have no direction. As Sheldon said in the shoutbox it's been 2 months of staying at home and nothing new on the horizon. I have used IPB in the past. I am probably going to put up a test site so everyone can give IPB a whirl. I moved away from vbulletin years ago because of the lack of direction. Guess who was project manager back in those days. You got it. The same person that is now part owner of xenforo.

Years after getting the mod boot from TAZ, Ozzy / KentS / Disgruntled / Sandman RSS Feed painfully tries to get some recognition as a XenForo mod. Please don't let it happen! He tries to explain to a better developer the rules XF has in place on deleting addons, as if Luke F doesn't aleady know. . Forsaken tries to ask a valid question about XenForo 1.x addons, which are pretty much EOL, but Ozzy shuts that crazy notion down, positioning himself as the arbiter of addon policy for XenForo. lol #idiot

According to Chris D: There is a significant change coming in 2.3 which I don’t want to give too much away about right now but it’s been in development and has been for the majority of 2022. It will be worth the wait but it isn’t ready to show you yet What could they possibly be developing for almost a year to include in a point release? Rewritten Resource Manager that nobody uses? Tracy Perry Funded Social Groups? Flash Arcade!?!? A Useful 'Block User' Function? A Dark Theme? Some random functionality that nobody asked for? New moderation tools to prevent child porn content? AKA "The Dragonbyte Tool" Personally, I think it's some kind of aggregation site or tool that combines a number of XenForo sites into one digest. It would be free for cloud customers, and a subscription for others. I think that's why the "Showcase" is petered out. Kier started that, and then had a revelation that it would be shit and completely useless, and decided to develop a better way to engage members. This is just pulling random shit out of thin air. Just guessing. If true, it'd be too little, too late, and still wouldn't make anybody happy. Is it crazy? What else could it be?

The Jack Army / TJA / Stolen Sheep Design / [sSD] has a number of clever addons available on XenForo at one time, and an all around Good Dude. He hadn't been around for a while, so I recently contacted him about his addons, because a lot of people still ask about support for them, or would like to get a copy of them. Fortunately, we came to an agreement whereby I have gained exclusive ownership of 8 of them. Create Thread Button Create Thread Icon Group New Posts New Posts User Group Badges Staff New Posts Custom Message Icon Birthday Icon I'll be redistributing them on XenForo soon, but I wanted to create a public thread in case anybody had questions about these addons in particular, or who had distribution rights for them. FAQ Do you plan to upgrade these addons to XF 2.0? I don't know which of my own addons I'll upgrade to XF 2.0 yet, if any, so I haven't made a decision yet on these. Do you plan to charge for these addons? I may for the more popular ones, or the ones that I find need the most tweaking. No idea on what they would cost, probably not more than $5.00 USD Why did you acquire these addons? Originally, I was interested in the New Thread Button addon, and the User Group Badges addons because I use them here, and they seem to be popular requests on XenForo. I didn't feel right copying their features as my own addons, so I just decided to have a conversation with TJA about them, and ended up getting access to all of them.

I'm allowing free downloads to members of BASH.zone. If you are more delicate of nature, you may prefer to purchase this addon for $2.00 on SneakyDave.com Message Markenator on SneakyDave.com DESCRIPTION The Message Markenator is a companion add-on to the Chat Markenator, giving the ability to mask posts/messages with a replacement character, such as an asterisk. Options exist to choose the replacement character, which buzzwords/keywords shouldn't be masked, and which forums to apply this add-on to. XenForo usergroup permissions are used to determine which groups should be affected by this addon. IMPORTANT: Please be aware that this addon may negatively affect your indexing and/or SEO of your forum if you use it in areas available for crawlers to access. I suggest that this addon is only used on forums that an admin has previously indicated as private, or on forums that an admin doesn't have a preference on what is indexed by robots. On the other hand, thread titles that were previously not available to robots can now be indexed. This addon does not replace forum titles, thread titles or usernames, only post content. Links in posts are replaced with [link], images are replaced with [image], and quotes are replaced with

vbresults has been in a panic that somebody might release an XenForo app that is better than his. Possibly, maybe even one that delivers notifications to mobile devices in less than 5 minutes. Because of this, he's thrown together a seemingly "free" app that XenForo admins can "download now" to try out this "amazing" app that will bring millions of new users to their forums. Unfortunately, it appears his idea of offering a free download of his beta product is more of an email harvesting scheme to sign up and hopefully get approved to have an app installed for you, or something to that affect. Allegedly banned from vBulletin for the same bullying behavior, he also doesn't like customers of his apps leaving honest reviews of his products. I think that's against the app stores' TOS, but we'll just have to wait and see about that. Free Mobile Apps for XenForo with Addon/Theme Support, Android & iPhone

Yes. Hear me out. It's been about 7 years since XF2 was mentioned. Currently the three (or two, depending on who you ask for an opinion) devs are working on both the 1 series and developing the 2 series. Why not stop with 1? Sans a security issue, it works very well, is durable, etc.... they're isn't any features being added, nothing. Small (not site crushing) bugs. That's what's being looked into. With every new 1.5.x release, more bugs (again, nothing major) are introduced, taking development time from the 2 series. Lock the bug forum now. If something appears that is going to halt sites from operating, issue a fix and move on. The current pace is numbing. Eventually, the steam will run out. Every .x.x that gets released pushes back 2. If this was the idea, then they should have kept adding features and stayed on the 1 series (kidding, relax) . I'm really not sure what to think..... is actually a bit disappointing to see the progress, or lack of, with the new software. I know i don't code, i know i don't know the time length required, etc. However, from XF1 beta to release, seemed faster. Makes ya wonder a bit.

The horror! I was reminded yesterday of the policy of official add-on licenses with XenForo. Purchasing the official Media Gallery or Resource Manager, which are legitimate addons, marries that license to the forum. It can't be transfered to a different one you own, or transfered to another customer. I think there is some weirdness in how long the support is for the add-on. I think it expires when your XenForo forum license expires, no matter when the add-on was purchased. Seems like a draconian way to license a product, but maybe it'll change with 2.0. #WheresKier?

Self Proclaimed Hot Tempered Latino, Carlos, Lord of the Carlosx360 Network must have mouthed off one too many times with XenForo moderator Brogan, on Brogan's ClipTheApex.com website. Brogan uses ClipTheApex to talk about F1 racing, and also distributes his popular "Featured Threads" addon, which can also be used as a type of portal. Carlos has already been banned on XenForo for spectacularly flaming out. It appears that Brogan or Jeremy might have been the ones Carlos had a problem with when he was banned: https://twitter.com/username/status/563807771817037824 View: https://twitter.com/CarlosX360/status/563807771817037824 https://twitter.com/username/status/563835146193739776 View: https://twitter.com/CarlosX360/status/563835146193739776 https://twitter.com/username/status/564910135332454402 View: https://twitter.com/CarlosX360/status/564910135332454402 Carlos was also banned on TAZ, but no explanation was given as to why. Recently, he reappeared on TAZ again as "Agent X", and XenForo developer Chris D called him out. Posting Suggestions On XF.com, Volatile Environment? Then recently, again, there must have been some kind of disrepectin' going on, because now Carlos reports that he's banned from Brogan's "Featured Threads" support site, and calls Brogan a "scammer". Did Carlos violate his license agreement? https://twitter.com/username/status/728288820311904257 View: https://twitter.com/CarlosX360/status/728288820311904257 https://twitter.com/username/status/728289245853442049 View: https://twitter.com/CarlosX360/status/728289245853442049 And then Carlos says that he's removed Brogan's addon from his websites due to TheAdminZone drama. Are there any really good sites utilizing the XenForo Media Gallery? I've used it sparingly in the past, but I haven't really seen any really good implementations of it.

This crowdfund mess has part of it's origin here: Add-on - XenReviews [CrowdFund] This is the summary as I understand it. I believe this all started around early 2015, and things started going sour on our about July 2015.... Daniel Hood and later and another developer (Jeff Barry), had a crowd fund started to develop a review system for XenForo, named XenReviews. It used a XenGrid system that Barry developed that was supposedly a GoodThing™, according to Daniel. Things seemed to be going well, and then Jeff Barry bowed out, and gave the project to Daniel Hood. Now, as I understand it, Daniel got married, or maybe was in the process of getting married, maybe had a new job, or new addons to develop. In particular, a new addon he is developing for avforums.com upset a few backers of XenReviews because both addons have similar features. So people started asking about the progress of XenReviews, and when the next update would be available. After some poorly worded explanations (in my opinion) from Daniel about the status of the project, backers freaked out and are demanding that Daniel either provide some updates, or refund their money. Daniel claims he doesn't have the time to finish the project, but he does plan to release it eventually. Today, Daniel posted a comment that he and the "XenForo Team" reached "an agreement" about the addon, referred to as a "resource" on XenForo. It says: If you read that, it sounds more like XenForo gave him an ultimatum, there really wasn't an agreement made. Of course, Howie from TAZ has to fly in as the self proclaimed arbiter of the situation, all the while make sure that the many commenters and viewers see his signature link to TheAdminZone, lol. His meanness toward Daniel was never really a threat, he was just trying to spread the sunshine! lol. So, if any of that information is wrong, please correct me, that's how I understand it. I don't have a license to this system, or any of Daniel's addons, at least I don't think, so I don't have a horse in the race. My questions are: 1) It appears from reading all of that content in the thread that the project originally had funds saved in an escrow account, and that Jeff and/or Daniel would only get these funds, paid by the backers, when the project was complete. Was this escrow a farce, or did the situation with the escrow change so that Daniel and Jeff got all of the backers' money, or what happened to the escrow? 2) I thought Daniel had somebody helping him with this work? What happened to him/her/them? Add-on - XenMods/XenReviews Hiring 3) Was this resource available on XenForo at one time? It doesn't appear to be available now. If the resource was never available on XenForo, why did Daniel let all the complaints happen on XenForo? Why didn't he just allow people to bitch and moan on his own site. Did he advertise the crowdfund on Pozible? I'm just trying to figure out why XenForo wouldn't have closed all discussions about the resource, similar to what they did with the Brivium fiasco
