Thank You Sneaky
Little something i wrote about Kili
My pal Kili the Wonder Dog is not feeling so good...he is slipping away in front of my eyes..changing fast, slowing down loosing his balance getting confused....i really shouldn't be surprised with his age and the trauma he suffered during the 2013 Colorado flood ...he has aged so much since then...i have been blessed with him by my side for almost 9 years...i would be kidding myself if i said i didn't feel sad.... i get a lump in my throat as i look at this photo of us with our white whiskered faces..we earned them together... He is my 5th German Shepherd since i was a boy ..i know the future... have lived this before and its doesn't get easier....He followed me faithfully for years and would plunge into fires, untamed wildernesses, raging waters if asked ...and i asked...and he did....he is a true hero. Some of you know his story and some of you don't.... he is responsible for helping save lives when we were trapped on the Big Thompson river for 5 days in Colorado... he was amazing the things he did to reach people that were trapped and injured.. he risked his life multiple times......(Once they danced by your side. The very definition of joy unleashed ....A perfect moment in time caught in shining eyes and wagging tail. Don’t go you say, as you scratch the tender part between their ears. Stay longer... I can’t imagine a world without your fur pressed close to my cheek. There are still so many roads we haven’t explored...Their eyes are glazed their backs are bent, not from the weight of years, but from the invisible wings they are growing that will someday take them to a place where once more they are warriors of speed.. drunk with the sights and scents of a thousand meadows ....A place where they will now wait for you to catch up.... please send energy and love to Kili my pal
