Sorry that it hurts you... but YOU were the one trying to brag and "one up". Just so happens you were using a salary from 18 years ago and apparently comparing it to your current salary.... and since you wanted to "brag" about your "Union" hourly rate, I figured you might like to know what my non-union hourly rate is currently for work I do on the side, while enjoying making almost 70K a year for just enjoying myself in retirement. Some of us are skilled (and trained) in multiple fields. It comes with from an insatiable curiosity about stuff and a desire to learn, even though it may not (at that time) have any application to your current employment. So, as I said, you must really enjoy getting bitch slapped around. Now, care to confirm for us how near I was for your "annual" salary in 2004? Or was that during the period you were flipping burgers at Mickey D's or frying chicken at KFC? Because sure as fuck you weren't one of those owner/operators (and since you want to brag I have several of those that are friends here as well as one that owns his own trucking company with a fleet of 18 rigs, as well as a few friends that own their own oil rig companies and are worth in the hundreds of millions, one you wouldn't know that as he lives on 20 acres of land in a 1800 sq. ft. house and drives a 10 year old Ford F-250). You see, my wife is "old money" in this county, one of her relatives being one of the original big landowners in it, so we associate with a lot of the old/monied names in this area (her cousin Beverly is drawing on average about 25K a month off the active wells she gets dividends from, and over 70% of the well totals are currently shut down). Hell, one of her relatives had a whole plat about 22 miles long and 17 miles wide on average that he and his family owned in the county named after him, with there being a plaque at the county seat honoring him. The "common joke" was that she was related in some manner to about 80% of the county. -

Yep, that was the STARTING salary about 18 years ago. What were you making back 18 years ago? Since in 2004 the average truck driver was a median income of $39,520, with a HIGH of $61K (top 10%, and those were OTR drivers not what are classified as local delivery) and a low of $25,740 (bottom 10% most local delivery) during the same time I was making $52K. Now, since you claimed to deliver chickens, that would normally classify as local delivery driving, or at least it does here in Texas. When I retired from the City (about 9 years ago) I was sitting at $73K per annum, 6 weeks paid vacation, 13 paid holidays and 3 weeks of sick time per year (which was allowed to be carried over year to year) along with between 20-30K training budget per year.... and now my retirement check for sitting around on my happy ass is $5318 a month and $248 a month medical insurance (thanks to the wife retiring from the State as a Lieutenant with a State law enforcement agency and hers being free) while getting the joy of bitch slapping you to the curb. Hell, when I got into law enforcement we took home about $700 a week at the department I worked for initially. It's one reason the smaller agencies are looked at as a training ground, as you "cut your teeth" there and then move up into the larger cities and gain a better salary. Since you want to compare ability to draw pay, I'll leave you with this. Currently, for "hourly salary"... I get $175 an hour for AS/400 (now the Power Series) work (not much of it to do now as most have gone to Windows based systems). For Windows based work as an outside contractor for a vendor that is associated with several local Dr. clinics, I make between $125-$175 an hour, depending on the services provided, except for my personal physician, who I do the same work for free. The migration of the VMWare instances to a new blade server (Dell PowerEdge MX740c) and then upgrade of their EMR software (as well as installing the latest VMWare ESXi) I did for one of the clinics over about 14 hours this past weekend pocketed me $2240. And the nice thing was I didn't have to leave the house but for about an hour of that. BTW, while typing this I was also finishing up another 4 hours of work, for another $600. It's not a "steady" job, but averages about 4-10 hours work a week between the various clinics unless we have a major update/upgrade to do at one of them, like with this past weekend. Makes for some really nice pocket change. For the computer forensics I still occasionally do (the training I obtained the last year at the PD and then the time in the IT department at the municipality I retired from), it depends on the client. Attorneys get charged on average $325 an hour (does not include charge for testimony, only for gathering of evidence). Governmental agency is $250 an hour. Private business varies between $250-300. And yes, I was eventually recognized as a forensics expert in the judicial venue and testified in numerous civil and criminal cases as such. -
I'll just leave this here.... Now, we will just wait until the Trumpty Dumpty faithful begin their illustrious RINO cry. Once more, isn't it rather ironic that you say anything that detracts from Trumpty Dumpty's brilliance and the cry of RINO starts echoing around?

Every homeowner needs one. Only $3.25'ish a bang. If you decide to add tracer every 5th round, that's going to be around $4 a pop for them. -

This is the type of idiot that has NO business owning a firearm.... in fact, someone needs to check and see if his state as a ref flag law. @Paul, since you are an "expurt" on firearms and taking them away from people, can you expound on whether Missouri has a ref flag law? Here, I'll save you the time looking it up - not currently, so you can get your Big Chief tablet and Jumbo pencil out and denote that for future reference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZZ2Y6fAq8o View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZZ2Y6fAq8o -
Dream on... and continue drooling all over yourself every time you hear the name Trump mentioned. Maybe one day you'll grow up out of your childish worship of the idiot and realize that you've been taken for a ride. Hell, when you have those in office voting on their own pay scales, they all are working to "benefit themselves"... so any knowledgeable person realizes that. But please, feel free to tell us any in recent memory that have lied so adroitly to gather 250 million from the rubes? Trumpty Dumpty took it BEYOND the next level. Massive fraud and stolen votes ring a bell (all without ANY proof still over 1.5 years later)? Heck, even his personal attorney, Rudy Tootie Fresh & Fruity, told Arizona representatives that they just didn't have the evidence... they just were basing their position on theories, but still wanted the Legislature to invalidate Biden's EC confirmation. Also, since you like polls... I see you failed to comment on the fact that 58% of those polled believed that Trumpty Dumpty deserves to be criminally indicted for his actions... maybe MASA is coming into being. And how about the fact that MORE of Trumpty Dumpty's "chosen ones" in Georgia have failed to live up to his expectations. Then you had his hearty backing of Mo Brooks in Alabama... until Mo said the people needed to get over 2020 and his popularity was declining, so Trump suddenly withdrew that endorsement and looked for someone to help chalk up a "win" in his endorsement column. Trumpty giveth and if one fails to worship him and support him absolutely, Trumpty Dumpty taketh away. The nickname "Mafia Don" fits him to a tee. And I see your 7th grade self is showing again.... maybe go grab another couple of 12 packs of PBR and kick back and relax yourself again.

What exactly are you cackling about? You don't think that Harris would carry more weight than Biden with the Democrats, specifically the progressives with his current list of failures to fall back on? Biden is as more of a failure than Trump was... and thats' saying a LOT. Remember, we aren't talking about the Republicans... who drool all over themselves every time Trump's name is mentioned (Bart and donuts come to mind). The Democrats want results, and are willing to admit when they put a failure into office.

Trumpty Dumpty claim launch... bang, shot down. Trumpty Dumpyt launches another... bang, shot down again. Rinse & Repeat. And yet the rubes can't see the truth.... they ONLY believe the offal that dribbles from Trumpty Dumpty's mouth. He said it, so it's GOT to be the "Gods honest truth". Isn't it rather ironic that Trumpty Dumpty is now complaining about "no representation" on the panel... when he and his coterie had a PERFECT opportunity to have such? And his sycophants in the Senate shot it down, I guess thinking that if they ignored it, it would all go away? Isn't it also amazing, the majority of this type of testimony is coming from Republicans, many of them LONG TIME Republicans, longer than Trump has been one.

Ronald Reagan... first president I ever voted for and in my opinion one of our best in the last 5 decades. As for someone I could get behind... like her or not, I'd happily vote for Liz Cheney. Hell, I could even see myself voting for Pence. DeSantis and Abbott are too much about running down that Trumpty Dumpty rabbit hole.... The scary thing is, here in Texas we are getting a big influx of Democrats coming in... and it does scare the Republicans in office as they see their power base evaporating. What bothers me is that if the Democrats can get their act together and get some of the anti-Abbott Republicans to cross over, we have a very good chance of getting an @Paul type hero into the governors office here. Now, don't get me wrong, just because they are a Democrat doesn't mean they are horrible. Hell, one of the better governors we've had in Texas was a Democrat (Ann Richards). She pushed through some much needed prison reform, bringing some major businesses into Texas, she pushed for individual school districts to have more control over their educational policies. One of the things she's most remembered for is calling George Bush (W) "Shrub".

Really? Explain to us how the entirety Texas officers are responsible for the actions (or actual inactions) of the person in charge of that scene... which, I remind you, was a school district Chief of Police? Pretty sure I've already mentioned numerous times the incompetence of most SRO and school ISD officers. As for the SRO officers, they are usually the ones that for some reason or another cannot make it on patrol with a municipality, county or state position and are placed there because it's a "safe position" for them - much like many court bailiffs are not your best qualified for patrol, being placed in their position just to keep them in a job in an environment where they don't have to make many critical decisions. From the image, they had MORE than adequate resources to force entry, being able to deploy at MOST 2 ballistic shields at once upon entry into the classroom via the door. In addition, some information from LEO friends that know some of those that were involved, in addition to shields and the long guns, they also had a tool that is used to pry locked doors open for dynamic entries. They had MORE than enough manpower and equipment for a dynamic entry.... the Chief simply failed in his job, most likely due to incompetence. They already HAD officers requesting permission to make entry, but being denied by said illustrious ISD Chief. Problem is... not everyone there can be "in charge"....... otherwise you have simple mayhem and officers doing whatever they want. There were officers present that were requesting permission to force entry... and being denied such. They had an incompetent in charge of the scene... and finally someone came along that was MORE competent and outside the chain of command and not answerable to the one that was "in charge" (in name only, not competence) and took charge. Classic case of his incompetence... why do you go to a situation like this without a radio? That's a BASIC piece of equipment, and EVERY chief I've ever worked for had a portable in a charger on their desk that they always took with them when they left the office. Then you have the idiot wanting to "shoot him in head" through an exterior window, just another point that proves his lack of knowledge. First shot through glass will normally depart from it's intended path, especially with a 5.56/.223 round (yes @Paul, this IS expert knowledge as I trained with our department sniper when at Lewisville PD - one officer from each shift did as well as the power shift officer, which I worked for 3.5 years, not to mention decades of shooting guns in hunting and seeing how a small branch can deflect a round). A BETTER solution would have been to utilize a distraction device (known as a flash bang) through the window and then enter with the shields through the classroom door. You would have had the dual distraction of the breaking glass, and then the flash bang pulling his attention away from the window.... but it's doubtful that they even HAD any flash bang's in the city, like most small departments don't have. DPS officers doen't (unless they are on the SRT team) have that equipment available to them in a region. I know our local DPS office Ranger had several toys in the safe in his office, some of which were flash bangs and other distraction devices, and he was a member of the SRT team. Hell, even just having several officers breaking the windows out would have been an adequate distraction. That incompetent school district Chief needs to be terminated, and I said that to my wife the day it happened - and she agreed (she has 28 years in law enforcement also)... I really don't know why they haven't already done so.

Would like to see earlier in the video as to the actual behavior of what was occurring, instead of making a snap judgement (which you are EXTREMELY good at) based upon the end of a situation. Just one more instance of your "expurt" knowledge and ability to jump to a totally unsupported conclusion. If they were being disruptive in the meeting, then what occurred is what normally happens when a city council meeting gets out of hand. It's recessed until the ones causing the disruption leaves or are "escorted out". Have had to deal with that at 2 of the 3 cities I've worked at since I typically worked an evening or power shift, which encompassed the time period that city hall council meetings occurred. Now, if they were simply recording, it's a public meeting in a PUBLIC building. They have a RIGHT to record there, which has already been affirmed by numerous first amendment cases that have gone up to SCOTUS level. The pity is that many officers (not as many as used to be) and City officials are NOT aware of that.... and they frequently try to intimidate those that are exercising their constitutional rights. I frequently watch a LOT of first amendment auditor videos on YouTube and it still amazes me at the ignorance of law enforcement, City officials and even Post Office officials when it pertains to the right of public recording. Doesn't matter if they have a sign posted about no video recording. If it's a government owned building, opened to the general public they have a right to record there. There are exceptions to where one can record, so you do have to be aware of them. -

You never asked a direct question.... you implied that they should be sued... I simply responded that anyone suing won't stand a chance, and gave you pertinent case law that supports that position - case law that has been in existence since the early 1980's. I have also further clearly stated that the majority of officers that work as a SRO or within a 1-12 grade ISD school environment don't have what it takes to actually BE patrol officers. As too what should happen to the chief? Exactly what several family members are pushing for. He should be terminated from his position. Then that ISD needs to hire a competent chief and be willing to pay for the pertinent training to get their "officers" up to "real" police standard. Care for me to further take some photos of the letters of thanks from individuals (some of which I arrested and processed into jail) to give you another MAJOR bitch slap? You must really enjoy being slapped around? Is that your masochistic tendencies coming to the forefront? Do you have a little shed in the back yard of your rented property to partake in your favorite pastime? -

Where did anyone say I was "forced to quit". Living in your fantasy world once more? I readily realize that people that can't deal with reality usually have an escape mechanism that they use to enter their alter reality, so maybe laying the pipe down for a break would be beneficial for you? I clearly stated that that I left after seeing that the department was taking NO corrective action towards the actions (or actually inactions) of a proven coward officer and that they were offering no training of note to any other officers. In fact, I got a letter of commendation from the COP, and also from the DA in that incident. Care for me to pull them out and take photos of them to give you yet another major bitch slap since apparently you are missing the "joy" from the first one? Didn't hurt that the pay for taking over the Network Admin position with the city also came with a SIGNIFICANT raise (36K a year to 52K a year starting). I can see how a truck driver that has limited abilities to further their earning potential may have issues with understanding that. -

I actually got to drive one like that... not on patrol but leading a parade. First patrol car I drove was a '80 Dodge Diplomutt (318CID motor) with the Federal Twin Beacon overheads. Shortly later the department purchased '82 Chevrolet Impala's and they upgraded to the Federal Twinsonic overheads. Always preferred the Twin Beacon as they light output went much further. -

Actually, those cases I detailed have been around for a while and are WELL known by many LEO's, especially with the litigious nature of society. You see, even back as far as the early 1980's some of use educated ourselves on court cases that could impact us. They are also well known by those that are 2nd Amendment proponents due to the fact that they PROVE that the police aren't there to protect you as a person, that is YOUR responsibility. I can't help it that some that are discoursing in this topic are about as knowledgeable as a lump of clay and just about as dense. Hell, 2 of the cases were from the 1980's, and the one was from around 2005, so it's not like it's some "recent thang". I have a folder on my Mac that I keep interesting 2nd Amendment case decisions in, which these were 3 of them. Heller vs DC is another important one that I have in that folder. -

Only problem for you... generally what I expound on I at LEAST have a working knowledge of. You lack even that much on many of your topics...this being one that is well in evidence of that. Now, if we were walking driving a semi hauling chickens (or possibly even choking the chicken), you would be about to expound upon that. -
Rebuttal to what? That there is a difference between a salesman and a SNAKE OIL salesman? I think you were already given that. If you don't know the difference between the two, then I truly pity you. In the meantime.... you see the latest poll in which 58% of the respondents believe Trump had a hand in the riots on 01/06/2021 and should be held accountable?
-
I don't know.... Hillary was actually strongly despised by people on both the left and the right. Biden doesn't have the same "bad taste" of Hillary to Democrats, nor does Harris. In fact, Harris might actually carry MORE weight than Biden with the Democrats.
-
There's a difference between being a salesman and being a snake oil salesman. The salesman usually sells a legitimate bill of goods, the snake oil salesman does not. I see you also don't address the fact he's an accomplished grifter. How much of those donated funds he begged for actually went to the "defense fund" he claimed they were for, and how much actually went into his PAC? And how much of those donated funds were actually spent for what they were claimed to be for?
-
Trump on ticket... Republicans lose. DeSantis on ticket, Republicans have a slightly better chance. You see, DeSantis is liked by more Republicans than Trumpty Dumpty is. I find it hilarious that the grifter has so many people bamboozled into thinking he's actually a Republican and not the consummate grifter and snake-oil salesman he actually is. Even his own staffers have said what a failure as a President he was.

What do you think should happen? We know you are an "expurt" in expounding on facts you know nothing about, so deign yourself to give us a guideline. And remember, SCOTUS has already ruled numerous times that law enforcement has no duty to protect you or any individual. That duty ultimately falls upon you as an individual. Law Enforcement only has a general duty to protect society, not individuals. Feel free to refer to DeShaney vs. Winnebago, Town of Castle Rock vs. Gonzales, and Warren vs. District of Columbia -

Simple fact is... you park your vehicle in a garage, leave it running and shut the garage door... guaranteed way to commit suicide. Take you vehicle, run it up to 100MPH and run into a bridge abutment, pretty much guaranteed you won't live long through it. BTW, you "chart" simply proves my statement... there are many other methods that one can avail themself of to commit suicide. Getting rid of one doesn't get rid of the rest. Oh, and how about the other 42 states in the nation, or maybe something a little newer than quarter of a century old stats? BTW, did you know that with the "banning" of guns in Australia, suicides by hanging increased in number? In fact, one more recent study I saw (2020 date) reflected that firearms are only used in 5%-6% of suicides/attempts (source, psychiatric times, June 17, 2020). Keep trying.. maybe one day you'll get a valid point. -

One of the better versions of this I've heard. What's neat is how much bass they are getting from the acoustic bass guitar.
